Fish Eating my Feet…
This weekend, we had a very interesting experience in an onsen near Mount Fuji…
In an onsen which had a public shared area, one of the pools was home to hundreds of fish about 4 inches long. The idea was that you sat with your feet in the warm water, and the little fishes, swam along and started to try to eat you, but because they were small, they could only manage to eat little bits of dead skin off your feet….
Now this isn’t my photo, but it shows feet and fish, so I thought it was a good one to have in the blog post…
Unfortunately, I really didn’t like the fish eating me, and about 15 seconds after sitting down, I’d literally jumped straight out of the water, creating a massive splash and scaring off the fish and many of the Japanese visitors to this quiet fish spa..
Micchi on the other hand seemed to enjoy being eaten alive by these slippery fish, and had a good half hour sitting there being ‘cleansed’..
Definately something to try, but something I really found un-nerving!!!
